Marina di Puolo is the closest beach to Villa Lorelei: just 200 metres separate the property from this small, protected cove, a short walk downhill of under 5 minutes. It is your nearest beach by far, the first sea view you'll see each morning from your terrace, and the easiest place to swim without ever taking the car.

This tiny seaside hamlet has a mixed dark sand and pebble shore facing directly toward Mount Vesuvius and the distant cliffs of Castellammare, with calm, clear water and a handful of small family-run fish restaurants right on the shore. Frequented by locals rather than tour groups, it keeps a row of old fishermen's houses and beached boats, a genuine, lived-in character that larger resorts have lost.

Mamy Lucia's tip: this is our local beach, so walk down early in the morning for glassy water, a near-empty shore, and perfect light to photograph Vesuvius reflected on the sea, then come back for a long seafood lunch by the water or a sunset aperitivo with Vesuvius and Capri glowing on the horizon. The bay is sheltered and the swimming gentle from late spring through early autumn, with the sea warmest in July and August. Calm, close, and uncrowded, it is the simplest romantic outing of your stay, no planning and no driving required.

Good to know: the village is mostly pedestrian, with only a narrow lane down to the shore, so it stays peaceful and free of through traffic. There are no big beach clubs, just a few restaurants and a small free stretch of beach, which is part of its charm. Bring a towel and water for the morning, then let the local kitchens take care of lunch right on the sand.
