Tordigliano Beach

Tordigliano Beach is one of the wildest bays on the coast, on the Amalfi side of the peninsula in the territory of Vico Equense. A long bay split into a large and a small beach, with no facilities at all, reached only by a steep path from the SS163.

Tordigliano Beach is one of the wildest beaches on the entire coast, about 25 minutes by car from Villa Lorelei. On paper it lies in the territory of Vico Equense, but it already belongs to the Amalfi side of the peninsula, with a long bay split into a small and a large beach. It is reached from the SS163 Amalfi coastal road, at the Tordigliano/Chiosse sign, by climbing over the guardrail and following a steep path of 20-30 minutes.

It is a place for those who know exactly where they are going: zero facilities, zero tourists who arrived by chance, just a stretch of pebbles facing an open, crystal-clear sea. The final descent is the most demanding part and requires holding on to a fixed rope for the last stretch, which is why the beach stays deserted and untouched even at the height of summer, frequented only by adventurers and those seeking absolute silence.

Mamy Lucia's tip: wear sturdy trekking shoes and consider bringing gloves to tackle the final rope-assisted descent. Set off with plenty of water, food, a hat, and sun protection, because there is absolutely nothing at the beach, and choose a day with a calm sea, since the bay is exposed.

It is ideal for adventurers, lovers of silence, and photography of unspoiled landscapes. Spring and autumn are the best times to face the steep path without the summer heat, while it is wise to avoid rainy days, when the path and the rope-assisted descent become slippery and dangerous.

Good to know: the beach is not suitable for children or the elderly, because access requires a steep path and a final descent secured by a rope. There are no services of any kind, so bring everything with you, including a rope or gloves for the descent, and carry all your litter back out, leaving the bay as untouched as you found it.
